How to play

Chess, made simple

  1. Protect your king. You may not make a move that leaves your king in check.
  2. Win by checkmate. Attack the king so it has no legal escape.
  3. Special moves count. Castling, en passant, and your choice of promotion piece are supported.
  4. Move promptly. Online turns start at 20 seconds. After one auto-play, that player gets 15 seconds on future turns.

The third missed online turn forfeits the match. The winner may continue the same position locally against a bot.
