How to play Doodle Decode

Take turns adding one clue-driven layer to a shared picture. After six layers, both players privately guess the hidden answer and reveal it together.

Start with a plan

These notes cover the controls, rules, and decisions in this browser version.

Choose Pass the Phone for one-device play or create a private invite link for a friend who can return on their own schedule.
On each turn, reveal one private visual clue and add only your new layer to the shared mystery drawing.
Submit the layer to lock it, hand control to the other player, and continue until all six reusable clues have been drawn.
Each player privately submits one guess; after both guesses are locked, reveal the answer and replay the drawing layer by layer.

Draw the requested feature clearly without trying to guess ahead; the full answer emerges from the combination of all six clues.
Leave open space around early features because later clues may add structure, scenery, patterns, or props anywhere on the canvas.
Use a distinct color for your layer when the existing drawing is busy, while keeping everything readable as one shared picture.
During the guessing phase, look for the one answer that explains every clue instead of relying on a single detail.
