Play a round

1. Open a square to reveal either a blank area or a number showing how many mines touch that square.
2. Use flag mode or the alternate pointer action to mark a square that the clues prove contains a mine.
3. When a clue already touches its full number of flags, every other covered neighbor is safe to open.
4. Clear every safe square without opening a mine to finish the compact field.

Strategy for this version

• Start with clues that touch the fewest covered squares; constrained edges and corners often produce the first forced move.
• Do not treat a likely mine as confirmed. One speculative flag can make several nearby clues appear solved incorrectly.
• After every reveal or flag, rescan all touching clues because one new fact often creates a chain of safe moves.
• Use recognizable patterns only after confirming that the clues have no extra covered neighbors outside the visible pattern.
