How to play Tile Tactics
These notes cover the controls, rules, and decisions in this browser version.
Play a round
- Choose a live opponent or bot, then claim one empty square when your turn begins.
- Players alternate marks on the shared 3 × 3 board; an occupied square cannot be selected again.
- Complete three of your marks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally before the opponent does.
- If all nine squares fill without a line, the round ends as a draw and a fresh board can begin.
Strategy for this version
- Claim the center when available because it participates in four winning lines, more than any other square.
- Check for an immediate winning move before defending, then block every opposing two-in-a-row if no win exists.
- Create a fork by making two different winning threats at once; the opponent can block only one square.
- When moving second against a corner opening, the center is the safest reply and prevents several easy forks.
